A Campervan Trip to see Mt. Fuji - 2 nights and 3 days from Hong Kong

A family of four from Hong Kong rented a camper van and enjoyed a trip to see Mt. Fuji. This was their first time driving a camper van.

Day 1

Arrived at Haneda Airport from Hong Kong. It is mid-December.
We rented a camper van in Shinagawa Station and set off.

On the first day, we’ll head to RV Park Annex Dōshi, where we can stay overnight in the camper van.
RV parks are facilities for staying overnight in camper vans.
It's about 100km from Shinagawa Station.
We bought some food at a supermarket along the way. We ate lunch in the camper van. It's convenient because you can eat leisurely inside the car without worrying about others.

We arrived at the RV park after dark.
RV Park Annex Doshi allows bonfires, so we had dinner by the bonfire that night.

[Things to note]
- In Japan, it is mandatory for children under 6 to use child seats.
- Once you enter the mountain roads, there are no supermarkets, so if there is a supermarket, make sure to go there early to buy food.
- There are RV parks where you can make bonfires and RV parks where you cannot, so if you want to make a bonfire, check in advance.

Day 2

Makaino Farm

We left RV Park Annex Doshi and headed to Makaino Farm.
Makaino Farm is a great place to interact with animals and take photos with Mt. Fuji in the background.
Next, we headed to Fumotoppara campsite.

This campsite is spacious and you can see Mt. Fuji right in front of you.
It was windy at night, so we ate our meals inside the camper van. Campers are safe because they aren't affected by the weather.
Today's driving distance was about 80km.

Day 3

It's about 150km from Fumotoppara campsite. to Shinagawa Station, where we rented the campervan.
We returned the campervan with plenty of time to spare, driving safely.

Mt. Fuji

This trip was the perfect way to see Mt. Fuji. We kept our driving distance to under 100km per day, which gave us plenty of time to enjoy the farms and campsites.
