Motorhome and Campervan Accommodation
Staying in a motorhome or campervan is recommended to be done at RV parks or Auto campsites. These facilities are well-equipped and offer comfortable accommodations. Please utilize these facilities for recharging the auxiliary battery and waste disposal.
Please note that you cannot stay overnight at coin parking lots or convenience store parking lots.
RV park
RV parks are accommodations specifically designed for motorhomes and campervans. There are over 400 locations in Japan.
The fees at RV parks typically range from 2,000 to 8,000 yen per night per vehicle, regardless of the number of occupants.
RV parks often accommodate around 2 to 5 motorhomes and campervans in terms of scale.
There are facilities such as 100V power supply, water supply, and toilets available. Waste disposal is also provided.
Although shower facilities are limited, Japan has numerous hot springs located throughout the country, so visitors often utilize those facilities instead.
Many RV parks in Japan are designed with the assumption of living inside the vehicle, so there are often restrictions on placing chairs or tables outside. It is advisable to check with each facility regarding whether chairs and tables can be placed outside or if BBQs are permitted.
Auto campsite
There are many auto campsites available. At these campsites, you can set up tables and chairs to enjoy BBQ. Many campsites do not have power outlets, so if you want to use an external power source, please check with the campsite in advance. Many campsites have shower facilities available.
Michi-no-Eki (Roadside Station)
Michi-no-Eki are facilities located along roadsides. Michi-no-Eki are facilities intended for tourism and rest, with ample parking spaces and toilets available. They often feature restaurants and offer locally-produced goods for sale.
Michi-no-Eki do not provide accommodation facilities. Additionally, guests are not permitted to set up tables or chairs outside their vehicles.
Highway Service Areas(SA・PA)
Service areas and parking areas are rest facilities located along highways. At service areas and parking areas, you can take a nap, but they are not accommodation facilities.
